MANILA - Taguig City residents benefited from free medical and dental services as Mayor Lani Cayetano returned to the post she held for nine consecutive years.
According to Cayetano's office on Friday, her administration's three priorities are health, economic development, and peace and order.
The city will continue the work-for-pay initiative under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) of the Department of Local Employment for residents affected by the pandemic but are not included in the national government's ayuda (aid) programs.
"With the overwhelming victory of our slate lie a million dreams and a million lives that look up to us for leadership and guidance," Cayetano said in her oath-taking speech on Thursday.
Her first executive order (EO) institutionalizes a faith-based and values-oriented leadership.
EO No. 2022-01 seeks to establish a moral uprightness and values formation program, ensuring that all Taguig employees serve Taguigenos with honesty and integrity as a "God-centered and people-oriented" local government.
The EO also lays down the administration's zero tolerance for any form of corruption.
After three terms as mayor, Cayetano was elected as representative of the Taguig's Second District in 2019. (PNA)
