BUTUAN CITY - A suspected child abuser from Dinagat Islands province fell into the hands of the local police in the Surigao del Sur town of Carrascal on Friday.
In a report, the Carrascal police described the 33-year-old suspect as the Top 1 Most Wanted Person in the Dinagat Islands.
Police collared the suspect, whose identity was withheld, in Barangay Adlay, Carrascal.
A resident of Barangay Don Ruben in the town of San Jose, the unnamed suspect has been running from the law for more than five years. police said.
"The said person has a standing arrest warrant for the violation of Section 10, Paragraph (a) of Republic Act No. 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act," the Carrascal police said.
The arrest warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 32 (Dinagat Islands) in Surigao City on May 30, 2017.
"The suspect is tagged as Top 1 in Most Wanted Person under the Manhunt Charlie, provincial level of the Dinagat Islands Police Provincial Office," the Carrascal police said. (PNA)
