MANILA - Two weather systems -- the frontal system affecting extreme Northern Luzon, and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao -- will bring rains over some areas of the country, the weather bureau said Monday.
The frontal system will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and Ilocos Norte.
The same weather condition will be experienced in Mindanao, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, and Palawan, due to the ITCZ.
"Those in these areas should take precautions against possible flooding or landslides," Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
He added that there is no weather disturbance or low pressure area (LPA) inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
"Yesterday, the 'heavy' rains in Metro Manila were caused by thunderstorms," he said.
For the rest of the country, isolated rain showers due to thunderstorms will be experienced, according to Aurelio.
The temperature may reach up to 35 C in Tuguegarao; up to 33 C in Metro Manila and Laoag; 32 C in Zamboanga; 31 C in Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Iloilo and Tacloban.
Meanwhile, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will continue to prevail over the entire archipelago. (PNA)
