MANILA - Presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte is still not running for president, Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said on Monday.
Roque said Sara is bent on seeking reelection in the May 2022 elections.
"Ang sabi po ni Governor Gwen (Gwendolyn Garcia) sa akin ay ang sabi daw ni Mayor Sara (Governor Gwen told me what Mayor Sara said) on her possibility of running for President, that ship has sailed," Roque said.
"So talagang mayor po ang takbo ni Mayor Sara (Mayor Sara will really run for mayor again)."
Sara has repeatedly said she would not join the 2022 presidential race.
Speculations, however, surfaced anew that the daughter of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte might consider running for the highest post of the land after she met with former senator and presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos in Cebu City over the weekend.
Her supporters' hopes have mounted again after photos of her wearing a green hoodie with "Sara All 2022" emblazoned on it went viral online.
Sara All Philippines 2022 is one of the groups urging her to run for president in the next year's elections. (PNA)
