ILIGAN CITY, Nov. 4 (PIA) -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Lanao del Norte Provincial Office said it would continue to assist workers affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic
DOLE Provincial Director Remegio Cabanog, in a COVID-19 Virtual Presser, said they will again implement three programs that aim to mitigate the adverse economic effects of the pandemic to workers in the formal and informal employees as well as overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who were displaced due to the pandemic.
These programs are COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP), Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers-Barangay Ko Bahay Ko (TUPAD-BKBK), and Abot Kamay ang Pagtulong (AKAP) programs under the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act (Bayanihan 2).
Cabanog said the CAMP extends financial support to formal sector workers that opted for flexible work arrangements while TUPAD offers 10-day emergency employment to informal sector workers with a pay of P365.00 per day.
The AKAP, on the other hand, is the assistance to displaced land-based and sea-based workers whether regular, undocumented, or returning workers (Balik Manggagawa).
Cabanog said the DOLE has disbursed PhP16,825,000 to 3,365 workers in 214 establishments in Iligan and Lanao del Norte who availed of the CAMP under Bayanihan 1.
PhP4,513,834 was also released for 1,986 beneficiaries of the Bayanihan 1 TUPAD-BKBK.
Moreover, 7,221 out of the 10,440 OFWs who applied for the AKAP in Bayanihan 1 have been approved and paid.
Meanwhile, Cabanog advised private establishments who want to take advantage of the CAMP on behalf of their workers to apply through the website https://reports/dole.gov.ph. (APB/PIA ICIC)
