DAVAO DE ORO, August 26 (PIA) - The province of Davao de Oro bagged the region's Kabalikat Award 2020 from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
The award was received by Governor Jayvee Tyron L. Uy during a ceremony held at the TESDA Regional Training Center, Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC), Davao City on August 25, 2020.
In a social media post, Governor Uy thanked all the residents of the province for contributing towards the attainment of the award, including the provincial office of TESDA, the municipal Public Employment Services Offices, and the Community Technical Education Coordinators.
"Our partnership with TESDA had gone a long way. Pinaagi sa ilang tabang, nakaextend kita'g skills training and livelihood assistance sa atong mga kababayen-an through our Provincial Women's Development Council, former drug dependents, former rebels, mga Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL), mga kabatan-onan, ug daghan pang gusto makatuon og bag-ong skills para sa ilang panginabuhian." (With their assistance, we have extended skills trainings and livelihood assistance to our women through the Provincial Women's Development Council, former drug dependents, former rebels, Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL), youth, and other persons who wanted to learn new skills for their livelihood.)
The awarding ceremony was led by TESDA Secretary Isidro S. Lapena, with the assistance of TESDA-XI Regional Director Engr. Lorenzo G. Macapili, DTE.
Director Macapili also expressed his gratitude to the governor saying "you are not just a partner of TESDA but you are an asset to value most."
Aside from the regional award, Governor Uy will also receive the National Kabalikat Award during a virtual ceremony via zoom on August 27.
Kabalikat Award is one of TESDA's primary reward mechanisms in giving due recognition and honor to its outstanding partners in the promotion and enhancement of the agency's programs. (PIA11, Michael Uy)
