DAVAO CITY, Aug. 26 (PIA) - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Davao del Sur Provincial Office has sealed a Commercial Partnership Agreement (CPA) on Monday with CNT Trading and Kiblawan Multi Purpose Cooperative (KMPC) for the development of the cacao industry in Kiblawan town.
Under DTI's Rapid Growth Project, the CPA signing signals for the institutionalization of a tripartite agreement for the cacao industry with CNT Trading as the anchor firm, KMPC as the supported agri-enterprise cooperative and DTI-Davao del Sur as the enabler.
In this partnership, KMPC is expected to have a steady and sustainable market for their cacao beans produce and will have marketing/technological support to be provided by CNT Trading being the anchor firm.
DTI-Davao del Sur, on the other hand, will provide support to both buyer/anchor firms and farmer organization.
In her message during the signing ceremony, DTI-Davao del Sur Provincial Director Delia Ayano emphasized that the CPA signing promotes inclusive and equitable business partnerships among value chain stakeholders in the cacao industry.
Kiblawan Municipal Mayor Rama, who also graced the activity, assured all parties that the LGU fully supports the undertaking and will continue to find more project opportunities to provide farmers access to market.
