DUMAGUETE CITY, April 27 (PIA) - Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo led earlier the unloading of the fourth shipment of medical supplies which include dozens of boxes of ethyl alcohol and isolation gowns for the frontliners
These arrived onboard a C295 aircraft of the Philippine Air Force which aims to augment the inventory of the City Health Office and Silliman University Medical Center.
Likewise, about 6,000 surgical masks have been turned over from Lee Super Plaza, one of the major shopping centers in the city.
The face masks are intended for the health workers and other frontliners who are working to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Another set of refreshment products came in from representatives of San Miguel Foundation who delivered about 200 boxes of canned goods, cookies, and coffee recently for distribution to personnel enforcing the rules of the Enhanced Community Quarantine.
For the supplies from Manila, Remollo extended his sincere appreciation to spouses Ramon and Karla Fernandez who arranged the flight; Armed Force of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Felimon Santos Jr. and his staff Lt. Col. Jose "Jay" Dizon; Philippine Air Force Commanding Chief Lt. General Allen Paredes and the C295 flight crew for the latest successful mission.
The mayor also commended the Lee family and San Miguel Foundation for the donation, which will be distributed by the City Health Office to those who are most vulnerable to COVID-19, including Persons Deprived of Liberty at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology and those in the frontlines.
