CALOOCAN CITY, Marso 26 (PIA) -- Inilibre na ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Caloocan ang "cremation services" para sa mga residenteng masasawi bunsod ng coronavirus disease.
Ayon kay Mayor Oca Malapitan, "upang makabawas sa alalahanin at gastusin ng mga mauulilang pamilya, handang magbigay ng tulong sa libreng cremation services ang Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Caloocan sakaling may residente na masasawi sa coronavirus disease."
Inatasan na ni Malapitan si City Social Welfare and Development Office head Roberto Quizon para siyang makipag-ugnayan sa pamilya ng mga pasyente sa pagproseso ng cremation.
Nabatid na aabot sa P16,000 ang magagastos sa cremation sa akreditong Funeral Homes ng lokal na pamahalaan.
Tiniyak ni Malapitan na tutustusan ng gobyerno ang gastos para aniya, "hindi na makadagdag pa sa paghihirap na pinagdaraanan ng pamilya ng pasyente."
Nauna nang mahigpit na ipinag-utos ng IATF-EID, ang policy making body ng nasyunal na pamahalaang nangangasiwa sa paglaban sa COVID-19, na kailangang ma-cremate ang sinumang namatay sa naturang sakit sa loob ng 12 oras ng pagkamatay. Samantalang para sa mga kapatid na Muslim, kailangang ilagay muna sa selyadong sisidlan o bag ang katawan ng yumao bago ilibing sa loob ng 12 oras din.
"Laging aagapay sa inyong lokal na pamahalaan sa panahon na pinakakailangan ninyo ng tulong," ani Malapitan.
"Palagi kaming handa na magpaabot sa inyo ng serbisyo lalo na ang mga kababayan natin na tinamaan ng naturang sakit," dagdah pa nito.
