ILOILO CITY, Oct. 10 (PIA6) - - The Statistical Exhibit for the 30th National Statistics Month (NSM) celebration in Western Visayas formally opened on Tuesday, October 8, and will run until October 25 at SM City Iloilo.
Statistical publications, performance outputs and services of 14 government agencies and academic institutions are showcased in the exhibit which is up for viewing from 10 A.M. up to 5 P.M.
Participating agencies are Department of Tourism, Philippine Statistics Authority, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, West Visayas State University, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Information and Communications Technology, and National Commission on Indigenous People.
The 30th NSM Statistical Exhibit opens October 8 and will run until October 25 at SM City Iloilo. A total of 14 agencies and academic institutions are participating in the exhibit featuring their statistical publications, performance outputs and services.
Other agencies that have mounted exhibits are Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board, Department of Labor and Employment, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, National Economic and Development Authority, and Philippine Ports Authority.
The exhibit, one of the regular features of the regional celebration, is a competition. Participating agencies are judged on the following criteria: Content (40%); Creativity/Uniqueness/Innovativeness (30%) and Complexity of Work and Appropriateness (30%).
It is also required that agencies must include the NSM Statman and the 30th NSM celebration theme "Data Innovation: Key to a Better Nation" in their display.
Judges for this year's exhibit are: Elena Pabiona of Radyo Pilipinas, Engr. Elmer Prudente of DICT, Dr. Roel Alli of WVSU, Jasmine Linn Maquiling of SM City Iloilo, Joeven Tansi of IFIT and Jonny Pornel of the Philippine Statistical Association, Inc.
