LUNGSOD NG BATANGAS, Set. 17 (PIA)- May 30 pasyente na may edad apat hanggang walong taong gulang ang nakibahagi sa isinagawang TB Congress ng City Health Office (CHO) kamakailan bilang bahagi ng Lung Month celebration na may temang "End TB Now Na!".
Ang mga dumalo ay gumaling na sa tuberculosis o sumasailalim sa gamutan sa pamamagitan ng TB Directly Observe Treatment Short (DOTS) Course program kung saan tumatagal ng mula anim hanggang walong buwan ang gamutan. Minomonitor ito ng CHO hanggang sa gumaling ang pasyente.
Sinabi ni Vician Hernandez, National Tuberculosis Program (NTP) nurse coordinator ng Batangas Provincial Health Office (PHO), sa tulong ng ganitong aktibidad nakakapagbigay ng dagdag kaalaman sa mga magulang at naituturo ang mga tamang pamamaraan kung paano aalagaan ang kanilang mg anak upang maiwasan ang TB.
Ayon kay Camille Salazar, assistant NTP medtech coordinator ng DOH Calabarzon na hindi dapat balewalain ang ganitong sakit dahil ito ay mabilis makahawa ngunit kapag nagamot kaagad ito ay naaagapan.
"Importante po ang kaalaman ukol sa sakit na TB upang sa una pa lang agad itong maagapan dahil ito po ay nagagamot na ngayon, maraming pamamaraan na po para magamot ito hindi katulad noong una na ang tao kapag nagkaroon ng TB ay kinamamatayan na ito," ani Salazar.
Hinikayat din niya na kapag nakaramdam ng sintomas tulad ng lagnat, ubo, mahirap na paghinga, nanghihina at bumabagsak ang pangangatawan ay kailangang kumunsulta agad sa doctor.
Ang TB ay hindi namamana, ito ay dala ng bacteria na palutang-lutang sa hangin at maaaring makaapekto sa mga taong mahina ang resistensya.
May mga pamamaraan upang ito ay maiwasan tulad ng pagkain ng masustansyang pagkain, pag-eehersisyo, paglilinis ng kapaligiran at maayos na bentilasyon sa tahanan.
Hangad ng CHO na maisulong ang pagiging TB -free ng lungsod ng Batangas sa mga susunod na panahon.
