LUNGSOD NG MALOLOS, Setyembre 11 (PIA) -- Buhay na buhay pa ang diwa ng "Bahay Kubo" sa Bulacan sa kabila ng patuloy na pagsulong ng industriyalisasyon sa lalawigan.
Iyan ang pinatunayan ng Provincial Agriculture Office o PAO sa binuksang Bahay Kubo-Bahay Gulay bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Singkaban Festival 2019.
Ayon kay PAO Head Gloria Carillo, layunin ng proyektong ito na hindi lamang basta magtinda ng mga abot-kayang halaga na sari-saring mga sariwang gulay kundi pagpapatunay din na nananatiling vegetable basket ng Gitnang Luzon ang Bulacan.
Sa datos ng PAO at ng Department of Agriculture o DA, 60 porsyento ng suplay ng mga gulay sa Metro Manila ay nagmumula sa Bulacan partikular na sa bayan ng San Ildefonso.
Kaugnay nito, ibinalita ni Net Caguingin ng PAO na mula nang makapagkaloob ng mga ayudang pinansiyal ang pamahalaang panlalawigan sa mga maggugulay noong mga nakalipas na taon, matagumpay itong napaikot sa pagpapalakas ng ani at kita ng mga maggugulay.
Sa kasalukuyan, patuloy sa pagkakaloob ng mga certified seeds ang DA sa PAO upang ipamahagi sa mga kooperatiba ng mga maggugulay. (CLJD/SFV-PIA 3)
