LUNGSOD NG NAGA, Hulyo 10 (PIA) - - Pinangunahan ng 9th Infantry (Spear) Division ng Philippine Army sa Bicol ang isang mass wedding kamakailan na ginanap sa chapel ng Camp Elias Angeles, San Jose, Pili, Camarines Sur.
Pinangunahan ni Rev. Fr./Major Domingo Labrella, chaplain ng division ang pag iisang dibdib ng labing isang (11) pares. Anim sa mga ito ay mga enlisted personnel, 3 miyembro ng CAFGU at 2 sibilyan.
Naging pangunahing bisita ang 9th ID Commander na si Major General Fernando G. Trinidad at ang kanyang asawa na nagdiriwang din ng kanilang wedding anniversary noong Hunyo 30.
Samantala, nagbigay naman ng tulong ang pamunuan ng 9th ID sa mga pamilya ng dalawang napatay na rebelde na miyembro ng New People's Army (NPA) ganundin sa mga Lokal na yunits sa bayan ng Ragay at Lupi, Camarines Sur. Halagang P16,000.00, bigas, at mga gamot ang natanggap ng mga naulilang pamilya mula sa pamunuan ng Philippine Army at ng Lokal na Gobyerno.
Matatandaan na nagkaroon ng engkwentro ang mga sundalo at mga rebelde noong Hulyo 1 sa Barangay San Vicente, Lupi. Napatay ang 2 myembro ng NPA sa pakikipaglaban sa mga sundalo ng gobyerno.
Bago ang nangyaring bakbakan sa bayan ng Lupi ay sunod-sunod na ang ginawang matagumpay na operasyon ng 9th ID sa mga lalawigan ng Camarines Sur at Sorsogon kung saan halos 2 matataas na opisyal at 1 miyembro ng rebeldeng NPA ang napaslang noong buwan na Hunyo. (dabad, PIA5/Camarines Sur)
