Philippine Times (IANS) Monday 6th February, 2012

A man in China stunned many people Monday when he jumped off a Metro station overpass amid rain, following a quarrel with his girlfriend, but soon got up and left the spot.

According to several witnesses, the young man quarrelled loudly with his girlfriend and suddenly leaped from the overpass linking Metro Line 4 and Line 10 at Hongqiao road station in Shanghai city, the Shanghai Daily reported.

He landed on the sidewalk.

"It's horrible. I saw a man jumping from overhead," said a blogger on Weibo.com.

People took pictures of the man and posted them online. The man was seen crouching on the sidewalk next to a fallen bike.

While confirming the incident, the Shanghai Metro operator said the man later stood up and left by himself.
